Humanity, love and public spirit – these three pillars describe the living together of people in a community and are united in the African Bantu language with the word "Ubuntu". Ubuntu also means that as an individual you are only a part of an entire universe. Ubuntu also describes the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.
At the beginning of 2015, I opened a day care centre in a poor township in Africa. The extent of suffering, poverty, hardship and desperation which I witnessed there can only be combated by taking concrete action!
This is what motivated me to establish a second charity foundation,
ERNST PROST FOUNDATION FOR AFRICA
Africa is a vast continent with vast problems; epidemics are widely spread, people are dying like flies and children are starving to death. This is not just a problem for Africa but for Europe and the rest of the world. On-site support and improvements to the conditions there will also help to deal with our problems in Europe, for example the uncontrollable flood of illegal migrants at European borders.
Children in Africa should be given a future. This requires nutrition for their stomachs as well as their minds, in other words food and education. The foundation's mission is to provide aid to the spot to improve the living conditions of the people in Africa.
With a similar mission to the "Ernst Prost Foundation"- helping people in distress through no fault of their own - the ERNST PROST FOUNDATION FOR AFRICA is a charitable, non-profit foundation.
